A Shreveport man convicted in Caddo District Court late last month of sex charges against a minor

was sentenced Monday, July 10, 2017,  to two terms in prison that will total 50 years.

Marquell Deonta Williams, 28, convicted June 28, could have received 99 years in prison from

Judge Katherine Dorroh. He was found guilty of one count of molestation of a juvenile and one

count of indecent behavior with a juvenile. The victim was 11 years old at the time of the first

offense and 13 years old at the time of the second offense.

Williams received a sentence of 45 years on the molestation conviction and five years on the

indecent behavior with a juvenile conviction, the sentences to be served consecutively. He must

serve at least 25 years of the molestation sentence without benefit of probation, parole or

reduction of sentence, and must register as a sex offender upon release.

Prosecutors were assistant district attorneys Treneisha Hill and Joshua Williams, with David

McClatchey defending Williams.
