A six-person Caddo Parish jury Friday, September 29, 2017, found a Shreveport man guilty of sex acts against two teenaged girls over the course of a decade.

Jeffery Lamar Brooks, 39, of Shreveport, was unanimously found guilty of molestation of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was arrested on July 25, 2013, following a report filed by one of the victims and her mother.

The trial lasted five days, with the five-woman one-man jury hearing testimony from law enforcement officers, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and the victims, who are now ages 18 and 28. Prosecutors presented evidence that proved Brooks molested one child victim, aged 15, in 2003 and another child victim, aged 14, in 2013. Brooks knew the victims though their relatives who were his acquaintances. The jury returned its verdict in just under three hours.

Brooks returns to face Caddo District Judge John Mosely Jr. for sentencing on November 2, 2017. The range of his sentence is still being determined.

Prosecutors were assistant district attorneys Pamela R. Moser and Britney A. Green. Brooks was defended by J. Antonio Florence.
