A Shreveport man was found guilty in Caddo District Court Tuesday, March 6, 2018, of gun and drug charges stemming from an arrest in June 2017.

Roosevelt Thomas Ardison Jr.’s jury trial was before Caddo District Judge Erin Leigh Waddell Garrett.

Ardison, 41, was arrested in a June 8, 2017, citywide sweep intended to patrol known drug trafficking locations. He was arrested in front of a known “trap house” in the 1600 block of Oakdale Street holding hands with a girl approximately 3 years old and refusing to a patdown. He was found to be in possession of both individually wrapped baggies of the schedule II narcotic cocaine as well as a 9-mm semiautomatic pistol.

Ardison, a convicted felon, was charged with both possession of the pistol and for possession of the cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Both are felonies, with the weapons possession charge punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison at hard labor and the drug charge punishable by two to 30 years in prison. Each is without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

He will return to court May 8, 2018, for sentencing.

Assistant district attorneys Ross Owen and Erica Jefferson prosecuted, while Ardison was defended by Michael Bowers.
