A Shreveport man accused of a sexual attack on an 11-year-old girl in late 2016 was found guilty of third-degree rape of a victim under age 13 in a trial in Caddo District Court this week.

Raheem Hassan Singleton, 22, was convicted Tuesday, July 24, 2018, by a six-man, six-woman jury in District Judge Katherine Dorroh’s courtroom. The trial began Monday, July 23, 2018. His attack on the girl occurred October 5, 2016.

When Singleton returns to face Judge Dorroh at his next court appearance August 6, 2018, he faces a sentence of up to 25 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

Prosecutors were Assistant District Attorneys Nancy Berger-Schneider and William Edwards. Singleton was defended by David McClatchey.
