The Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned three true bills in its current session ending Wednesday, August 15, 2018, issuing one indictment for second-degree murder and two concerning sex crimes.
Steve Derozal Williams, 46, of Shreveport, was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the June 7, 2017 slaying of Terry Brown. Brown, 43, of Shreveport, was slain in a domestic shooting that occurred in the 6100 block of Pebble Beach Drive. Williams is in custody at Caddo Correctional Center with his bond set at $500,000. If convicted as charged Williams faces a mandatory life sentence.
With regard to the sex-crime indictments, Kenneth Michael Sherrick, 61, of Keithville, is charged with first-degree rape and sexual battery, while Pernell Antonio Raphiel Washington, 26, of Shreveport, is charged with aggravated rape and third-degree rape. Both those indictments are sealed. Both men are in custody at Caddo Correctional Center, with Sherrick’s total bond set at $300,000 and Washington’s total bond set at $500,000.
