A Shreveport woman was found guilty of home invasion in a Tuesday, September 4, 2018, Caddo District Court bench trial.
DeAqua J. McDuffy, 44, was found guilty of the May 23, 2017, unauthorized entry into the Francis Street residence of her former husband, during which she struck him with an aluminum baseball bat.
Caddo District Judge John D. Mosely Jr. heard testimony from the victim as well as his uncle, who witnessed McDuffy attack the victim with an aluminum baseball bat after forcing her way into his home in the early morning hours. Testimony and evidence from Detective Jennie Brooks, including a jail call McDuffy made to a colleague about the incident, were presented for the court’s consideration.
When McDuffy returns to court October 16, 2018, she faces a sentence of up to 30 years at hard labor for the conviction.
Prosecutors were Assistant District Attorneys Pamela Moser and Treneisha Hill. McDuffy was defended by Stan Lockard.
