A Shreveport man charged with the slaying of his girlfriend in May 2018 pleaded guilty Monday, March 11, 2019, in Caddo District Court.

Steven Wayne Richardson, 52, will serve 40 years in prison at hard labor for manslaughter, following his admission to District Judge John D. Mosely Jr. that he killed Linda Johnson on May 18, 2018, after a domestic dispute. Johnson, 59, was found deceased in her residence in the 2400 block of Stonewall Street the morning of the day she was killed when a welfare caller reported she did not arrive at work as scheduled.

Members of Linda Johnson’s family were present when Richardson pleaded, and he apologized to them as well as to his own family members before sentencing by Judge Mosely.

Richardson was prosecuted by Caddo Parish Assistant District Attorney Treneisha J. Hill, the Section 2 chief. He was represented by Michelle Andrepont.
