A Shreveport teen accused of rape against a male family member was convicted of sexual battery in a bench trial in Caddo District Court Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Hayden Lawrence Durfee, 18, of Shreveport, was found guilty by District Judge John D. Mosely Jr. in the trial that began Wednesday, October 16, but was recessed until this week.

Durfee was 16 at the time of the assault against his juvenile relative. Due to the nature of the crime and the age of the victim, no other details are releasable.

Durfee will return before Judge Mosely for sentencing November 4, 2019. He faces up to 10 years in prison, as well as mandatory registration as a sex offender.

He was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Treneisha J. Hill and Senae Hall. He was defended by Michelle AndrePont. The case was docket No. 347783.
