A man who raped a female relative in Caddo Parish was judged guilty in Caddo District Court Friday, November 19, 2021, and faces life in prison at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
Greg Alan Salard, 60, of Mountain View, Arkansas, was found guilty as charged by a six-man, six-woman jury in District Judge John D. Mosely Jr.’s courtroom after deliberation that lasted less than 45 minutes.
After weighing the evidence presented at trial, the jury determined that between the years 2004 and 2005, while a resident of Caddo Parish, Salard raped a female relative under the age of 13.
He has prior convictions in 2016 for sexual exploitation of a child and distribution and receipt of child pornography in U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska.
Salard will return to Judge Mosely’s courtroom on December 13, 2021, for formal sentencing.
Salard was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys William J. Edwards and Mekisha Smith Creal. He was defended by Alan Golden.
