Continuing a Christmas Season tradition, Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr., the Caddo District Attorney’s office and Volunteers for Youth Justice again will present new bicycles to deserving Caddo Parish students as part of their award-winning school truancy program.

This year, 39 elementary school principals each chose two deserving students to receive bicycles, with 84 total to be given this year. Students were chosen based on good attendance or improvement in attendance or academics.

Due to social distancing concerns and manpower issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a mass give-away of the bikes. Instead, vouchers have been delivered and parents will be able to pick up the bikes December 19-24, 2021 at Academy Sports + Outdoors, 210 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport.

Sponsors are Academy Sports + Outdoors in Shreveport, Horseshoe Casino and Hotel and Ballys Shreveport Casino and Hotel.
